So the electricians came by and installed a new outlet for my kiln at the new house. A quick drop from the panel, a new breaker and a heavy duty outlet. The outlet is metal and not likely to sink into the wall as its not just attached to sheet rock but to the stud itself.
This was done for $150 total which I think is a very fair price. My last encounter with an electrician for this job was maybe 6 months ago when I was charged $250 for the same job including one extra breaker and not using the heavy duty outlet. I am a big believer in doing things locally but I was way overcharged for the work that was done.
The next thing that needed doing was to remove the glaze drips from the kiln shelves and repaint with kiln wash. No sense ruining good shelves š
